The One When She Turns 29

Did any of you watch Friends? All of their episode titles begin with, "The One"

Anyway, today I am 29. 29!

Kimball turned 30 a couple of years ago and I teased him. Alot.

I think I have set myself up for a year of teasing from him :)

9-patch blocks must be my favorite because I find myself frequently making them.

I found a collection of 2.5" squares that I was saving for a paper pieced quilt.

Now, I know that quilt will never happen. I simply don't have the patience to work on it...

So a 9-patch quilt it is!

 

I am currently making myself some sugar cookies to celebrate.

And not to mention the Guittard Chocolate Chips I eat regularly.

By the bag. Almost Daily.

You should buy some. They are addicting :)

I think I will kindly suggest Costa Vida for dinner...

Swimsuits for Sale!

I am selling these cute swimsuits here. 

Flower Letter Quilt Top

This is a big quilt! 

It is somewhere around 92" x 92". My blocks never end up the size they should be :)

I wanted bigger blocks to show more of the Flower Letter fabric. I generally stick to smaller blocks so this 

quilt is different than any other I have.  I don't have perfect points but I am okay with that. My sewing

 skills are improving, and hopefully one day I will look back on my collection of much-less-than-perfect quilts

and smile. 

My neighbor has a long arm quilting machine. It's very convenient. I will get the back ready and drop

everything off to her!

 

The pattern is Sweet Life from Camille Roskelley's Simply Retro Book

 

 

Sewing with children...

I am trying to sew my quilt together.

As soon as it is on the floor, my children think that's an open invitation to play :)

And yes, Samantha is still in diapers. She's almost 3... She wants nothing to do with potty training.  

A little taste of Spring

 

We have had beautiful weather! Grandma brought home a new tricycle and it is very loved.

Samantha thinks it's perfect. She rides while Dieter petals ;)

And, Samantha loves to push the stroller.

I have to keep my eye on her...she has tipped it over a few times with Nellie in it!

I've started on a new quilt using some Japanese and Posy fabric from my shop.

I hope to finish it up this week!
